Jonathan Foo is a veteran of the media, technology and education industries. He was founder of Mega Media one of Singapore’s largest private media enterprises, generating an output of 9 feature films, including Song of the Stork; the 2002 Best Feature Film at the Milano Film Festival, and hundreds of hours of international television co-productions. Mega Media was the first Asian media company to pioneer High Definition video production. It also owned and operated Singapore’s first independent HD broadcast playout facility that launched 6 HD Channels for SingTel’s MioTV platform in 2006. In 2010, Jonathan’s company was bought over by Singapore-listed Creative Technology Ltd and was renamed Vue Networks. The company was tasked with managing the groups digital content strategy. Today, Vue Networks specializes in Educational Technology solutions, offering services in e-learning content development and platform management.
In education, Jonathan is curriculum developer and course lead for five level-3 courses as part of the Bachelor of Digital Media at SUSS. He was a pioneer e-learning developer and was awarded the Bronze certificate for collaborative e-learning by the School of Science and Technology. Jonathan lectured for two years at NTU’s Wee Kim Wee School of Communications and for a decade at SIM University. In 2017, he was awarded SUSS’s Innovation Seed Grant for research in “Developing the tools and systems for Immersive VR 360 Live Streaming Video in eLearning”. He is currently pursuing his Doctorate in Education at the National Institute of Education at NTU, specializing in Technologies and Technology-Mediated Learning Environments. His research area is in Virtual Reality Learning Environments. Jonathan also holds the Advance Certificate in Learning & Performance (ACLP) from the Institute of Adult Learning.
